- Community Unity Music Education Program: CUMEP, in Ithaca, New York, provides low-to-no cost music, media and arts education to youth of limited financial resources. Youth are provided with multicultural instruction in music and the arts, for the purpose of helping them develop positive self-esteem, academic and social skills, self-confidence and self-discipline, public performance skills and an awareness of and excitement about college and career opportunities. CUMEP welcomes children from all backgrounds to participate, especially inviting low-income youth of African American, Latino, Asian American and Native American (ALANA) backgrounds to participate.
